About The Show
What are the timings? How long is the experience?
The total experience runs for around 3.5 hours.
I came to The Great Murder Mystery before. Will it be different this time?
Yes and no. At its heart, it is the same production: the same story, characters and experience that audiences loved in 2021 and 2024.
But The Lost Estate has learned and built a great deal since the last run. The team is already developing the script, set, hospitality and world around the show, using everything learned over the past few years to make Baker Street richer, more detailed and more extraordinary.
Think of it as the production you remember — evolved, elevated and rebuilt for 2027.
Do we have to play a role or take part?
No. There are no lines to learn and no awkward improv. Your role is simply to be there: one of the aristocrats, society figures, politicians and other members of Victorian London’s great and good invited to Baker Street.
You can engage with the world as much as you like, but the experience is designed so that you can sit back, dine and enjoy the performance as it unfolds around you.
What is The Great Murder Mystery?
The Great Murder Mystery is London’s cult Sherlock Holmes experience, created by The Lost Estate. After sold-out runs in 2021 and 2024, it returns to London in April 2027 for 12 weeks only.
London, 1889. Lurid headlines and rumours of a demon hound have brought Britain to its knees. As panic mounts in Westminster and on the streets, Holmes and Watson summon you — London’s social and political elite — to a press conference at 221B Baker Street. Finally, the truth of The Hound of the Baskervilles will be revealed.
Step inside an immersive 221B Baker Street of breathtaking scale and detail, live out Holmes and Watson’s greatest case as it unfolds all around you, and dine in Victorian splendour. Theatre, live music, fine dining, mixology and murder — all in one extraordinary night.
Is the experience immersive?
Yes — but not in the sense that you are expected to solve puzzles, learn lines or perform.
You have a vital place in the story: you are one of London’s social and political elite, summoned to 221B Baker Street to hear Holmes and Watson reveal the truth of the Baskerville case. The action unfolds on the stages and throughout the room, only feet away, while you dine at your table.
You are inside the world, rather than watching it from the outside. Participation is not required — simply take your seat and lose yourself in the story whilst you enjoy time-travelling menus of fine dining and mixology.
Is it the story of The Hound of the Baskervilles?
Yes. At its heart, this is The Hound of the Baskervilles — created by a team of genuine Sherlock Holmes fanatics and rooted as closely as possible in Conan Doyle’s original story and wider canon.
There is one important twist: our story begins where the novel ends. Three months after the events at Baskerville Hall, rumours that the Hound is still at large are gripping Britain. The case was never publicly tried, Fleet Street has seized on the unanswered questions, and Holmes and Watson are finally forced to break their silence.
Your evening begins at their press conference at 221B Baker Street. From there, Watson opens his diary and the Baskerville case comes to life around you.
There are further twists and turns, however you will find no spoilers here.
What do the tickets include?
All dining tickets include an opulent banquet, which recreates dishes from the menus of the great New York dining establishments of the 1930s. Learn more here.
